THE JOB / Account Executive (Team Sports Sponsorships) (Payment Services Client)
CLIENT SERVICES
/ Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.
Note: This position will be based in our Los Angeles, CA office with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office).
Octagon is looking for an Account Executive to join our team to support a major payment services client and their US Team Sport sponsorships. In this position, you will help to manage and execute our client’s partnerships in the NFL and MLB by collaborating with Octagon’s internal client divisions, external vendors, agencies, and clients themselves. Additionally, this role offers a unique opportunity to learn strategic operations and develop an understanding of the client’s consumer marketing programming. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized and motivated, detail oriented, eager to learn how partnerships impact our clients’ business objectives and a great communicator.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
Act as day-to-day contact for key clients, partners, vendors, and customers and build trust through consistent delivery and professional communication
Develop a working knowledge of client business, brand guidelines, marketing priorities to help ensure programs ladder up to broader objectives
Manage hospitality and premium experience assets across several team partnerships
Maintain and seek creative ways to enhance partner relationships, as well as vendors and properties
Manage approvals of sponsorship branding and messaging onsite and in digital collateral
Lead numerous projects simultaneously, managing smaller-scale turn-key event experiences and supporting large scale custom event experiences while ensuring timelines are met
Own finance paperwork and documentation (Creation of POs and job codes, adding new vendors into our systems and accurate time/expense tracking)
Develop post event wrap-up emails and decks to clients directly following events and compile end of year recaps
Attend events while serving as a main point of contact for vendors, guests, client and partners
Handle weekly updates and action steps across main sponsorship property
Manage digital experiences, content management, and approvals across verticals and ambassadors supported
Learn and master the client’s asset management system, ensuring key sponsorship assets are requested, tracked, and utilized in strict compliance with established processes and protocols

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
1+ year(s) agency/client service experience and/or marketing experience, ideally in sponsorship, sports, or entertainment
A clear and efficient communicator, both verbally and in writing, who can create client-ready documents such as agendas and recaps
Attention to detail and strong work ethic, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work, while adhering to strict timelines (ex: reporting documents, client facing decks, budgets)
A standout colleague who loves to share their opinion and solve problems but can also work independently
An outgoing person who can help maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and vendors
Strong project management skills and ability to listen attentively to client needs and proactively recommend solutions
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel amount: Low (0-15%)
This position pays $40,000, is overtime-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
