Outside Sales Representative - North Dakota & South Dakota
Position Overview
Our Outside Sales Representative will develop and manage sales in North and South Dakota, promoting mechanical equipment solutions to clients in power generation, oil & gas, sand & aggregate, mining, food processing, and agriculture sectors. The role is remote, with preference for candidates in the Bismarck, North Dakota area.
Territory: North Dakota & South Dakota
Job Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory or industry.
Conduct in‑person sales calls, presentations, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
Develop and maintain strong relationships to drive loyalty and repeat business.
Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
Territory & Account Management
Manage an assigned sales territory with regular travel to client sites.
Plan and execute daily/weekly prospecting schedules.
Maintain a pipeline of active opportunities using CRM tools.
Collaborate with principals and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
Market & Product Knowledge
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of product lines, pricing, and promotions.
Provide field feedback to improve offerings and sales strategies.
Reporting & Administration
Accurately document all sales activities in the CRM system.
Prepare regular reports on sales performance and territory updates.
Attend sales meetings and training sessions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
2–5 years of outside sales experience, preferably industrial B2B.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical aptitude in industrial and process‑driven environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Self‑motivated and results‑driven with excellent time management skills.
Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long‑term customer relationships.
Solid presentation and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory (up to 25% overnight travel may be required).
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, depending on product type.
