Senior Accountant – Job Overview
Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, a leading aerospace and defense engineering company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Florida Turbine Technologies (FTT) division located in Jupiter, FL. The role supports financial reporting, cost accounting, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
Essential Functions
Prepare and review ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain the general ledger system.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; assist with regulatory reporting and GAAP/IFRS compliance.
Conduct accounting research, analyze financial issues, and provide problem‑solving recommendations.
Manage project job cost accounting, reporting, and billing using Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP.
Perform cost accounting audits, review invoices, vouchers, and ledger entries, and verify accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field support teams to resolve financial and cost accounting issues.
Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and international multicurrency transaction experience.
5+ years progressive accounting/financial reporting experience.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience using Deltek Costpoint or a similar ERP system.
Strong analytical, detail‑oriented, and prioritization skills.
Self‑motivated, self‑starter with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Commitment to maintaining sensitive and confidential information in accordance with company and government requirements.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
