Overview The Hills is seeking a Club Controller to join the Finance and Accounting Department. The Club Controller will direct the financial affairs of the Club and prepare financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.
Key Responsibilities
Establish major economic objectives and prepare all financial reports outlining the Club’s financial position.
Maintain the Club’s books and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in compliance with GAAP and tax requirements.
Support capital budget planning, leasing, financing, depreciation, and reserve management.
Maintain and keep compliance on all licenses.
Support cash management and treasury functions, including cash flow projections, banking, and debt management.
Oversee policies and procedures for effective club accounting and control systems.
Provide training, guidance, and support for backfilled role and future club controller(s).
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in accounting or business-related field.
CPA and/or MBA in finance or accounting is a plus.
Eight to ten years of work experience in accounting and financial management.
Experience in Hospitality/Food Service finance is important.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Intacct accounting software experience preferred.
TEI software experience is a plus.
Power user skills with Excel, solid typing, and experience using Word and Outlook.
Experience supervising professional and clerical staff.
Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in a team environment and stay calm during the busiest times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Must meet physical demands including standing, walking, moving for >8 hours and lifting >50 pounds.
