Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job\'s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE: The Financial Analyst will develop and enhance financial management systems for Psychiatry’s grant administration. Maintain responsibility for Workday work processes (including URHR) and internal financial reporting, classification of accounts and funds, ledgers and third-party reimbursement processes. Deliver focused reporting, tracking and analytics for research/grants administration. Serve as a primary liaison between Psychiatry finance and research/grants administration. Develop expertise in Workday processes to troubleshoot issues and create meaningful and creative solutions. Report to the Assistant Director of Research with oversight from the Director of Finance. Participate in the Department’s efforts to create a culturally competent environment and engage in ICare and cultural competence events and training. Oversees processes for grant-related postings and effort in Workday. Prepares PCAs and PAAs in collaboration with grant managers to allocate and reallocate effort to proper FAOs and budget periods. Manages Workday processes for postdoc and student postings. Coordinates the semi-annual effort certification process in Workday. Serves as liaison between ORPA, ORACS, PI, research staff, and other University departments to manage effort certification for complex and multi-site research projects. Assists with management of endowment and gift funds in support of research and related programs. Coordinates invoicing and financial reporting for NYS entities and other funders. Serves as liaison between ORACS and Psychiatry grant administration for Workday processes and closeouts. Analyzes and interprets data, statistics and financial information and identifies significant differences in relationships among sources of information. Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data analyzed; makes recommendations to Finance and Research/Grants Leadership based on data. Performs complex thinking to master systems (including Workday, Oncore and IORA); provides training and guidance on systems. Assists in developing training for Principal Investigators and in developing/modifying policy and procedures related to research/grants finance. Provides financial management reports, statements and spreadsheets; develops departmental journal entry transfer processes for grant FAOs and coordinates reconciliation and distribution of grant reports. Maintains understanding of internal processes and suggests policy changes as appropriate. Maintains CLASP certification for Research Administrators. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in finance functional area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience 3+ years of related experience, preferably in health systems grants management finance Or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and communication skills, including written communication Familiarity with federal NIH-grant reporting mechanisms Licenses and Certifications
