Serves as a Risk & Compliance Manager in the Credit Union administrative setting. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principles of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union and adhering to the vision of “ Empowering People to Enhance Lives ”. Lead the Risk & Compliance department in developing, refining, and maintaining policies and procedures that strengthen the Credit Union’s risk and compliance framework; ensure effective implementation across all business units. Develop and manage the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks in alignment with regulatory requirements and strategic priorities. Oversee the compliance program to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies (including BSA/AML); provide guidance, monitoring, and promote a strong culture of compliance. Serve as the Security Officer to ensure physical security measures protect the Credit Union and member information. Provide oversight for the fraud prevention and detection program; ensure it remains effective and compliant with evolving trends and regulatory expectations. Manage the vendor management program with due diligence, monitoring, and governance; collaborate with vendor owners to maintain current records. Maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Programs with regular testing and updates. Oversee record retention policies in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Collaborate with department leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks. Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices; recommend policy updates as needed. Establish and monitor individual and department goals aligned with overall credit union performance. Report progress of projects and initiatives to management, with recommendations for improvements. Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Other duties as assigned. Additional Functions
Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, and training related to work areas. Meet with Management to discuss strategies, needs, and progress of projects. Adhere to all Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities for this role. Skills and Competencies
Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills for communicating with members, employees, and vendors. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a positive attitude in challenging circumstances. Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment. Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or 3–5 years of experience in operations, risk management, or compliance in a credit union or financial institution, or related work experience required. Strong knowledge of credit union operations, regulatory compliance, policies, procedures, and risk management principles. Strong critical thinking skills to anticipate risks and develop proactive solutions aligned with organizational goals. Advanced mathematical skills (decimals, percentages, fractions). Physical Requirements
Sitting 90–95%, standing 5–10%. Working at a computer 95% of the day. Phone usage 30–35%. Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Working Conditions
