**Salary**: Commensurate with Experience/Education Job Description
Performs professional accounting work responsible for a major business area, such as student billing system, Federal Title IV programs, and more. Maintains the accounting of a major business area, including table maintenance, data submission, reconciliation, and account reviews. Ensures transactions comply with generally accepted accounting principles and guidelines from federal, state, university, and NACUBO. Prepares journal entries, conducts reconciliations, processes cash receipts, reviews transfers, and may record bad debt reserves. Assists department administrators with accounting questions. Conducts contract compliance reviews and prepares financial reports for agencies, including Profit and Loss statements. Advises managers on accounting issues and may coordinate office activities in their absence. Reviews departmental accounting and cash handling practices, investigates discrepancies, and makes recommendations. Performs other related duties as assigned. **Qualifications**: Requires a thorough understanding of professional disciplines, obtained through a 4-year degree or equivalent training, and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
