Insurance Billing Specialist
Hendricks Behavioral Hospital (HBH) is seeking an Insurance Billing Specialist to manage timely billing of facility claims for behavioral health and chemical dependency services at inpatient and outpatient levels. The role ensures reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors.
Run daily bill selection, process bills, and upload daily
Transmit all electronic claims to payors daily, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors
Research and resolve electronic claim delays within 24 hours of exception reports
Correct rejections daily to ensure timely filings are completed
Make sure secondary claims and rebills are completed timely
Understand payor requirements and special requirements
Verify appropriate revenue codes, CPT codes, and modifiers
Experience with UB04 claim forms
Able to read and understand an EOB
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or higher preferred
Minimum 1 year billing experience in a hospital business office setting, preferably psychiatric services
Knowledge of Medicare DDE and insurance billing, computer and business software programs preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Detail-oriented with basic mathematical and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional appearance and approach
Quick learner of MedHost software, Hospital Clearinghouse, and Excel spreadsheets

Compensation This is a full-time position, and the expected compensation range for this role is $22.00 - $25.00 hourly, plus a monthly bonus opportunity.
