Financial Aid Advisor

is assisting students with their financial aid eligibility. This individual is accountable for the one-on-one advising involved in ensuring students comply with their federal financial aid. The Financial Aid Advisor will work closely with the Admissions Department to provide financial aid options for potential students and complete their packaging on time. The

is also responsible for meeting a monthly cash collection goal. Additional responsibilities may include participation in orientation, graduation, campus events, and other tasks. The

must have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish campus and department goals. Scorecard accountabilities include: Financial Aid first-time appointments, applicants that enroll within five days, same-day financial aid estimates, students enrolled in auto debit/payer express, cash collected vs. cash due, timely Title IV drawdowns, and prompt student financial aid packaging. Responsibilities

Meet prospective students and determine their eligibility for financial aid and other tuition options, including payment plans or other financing options. Achieve an estimate of Financial Aid eligibility during the first meeting by guiding students through completing the FAFSA and receiving the EFC email confirmation. If the FAFSA is already completed, ensure the school OPEID code is assigned for packaging. Schedule a follow-up within 48 hours for completing the FA process. Package students and complete internal documentation, then enroll students in Payer Express to meet campus goals. Set up students in QuickBooks Campus and QuickBooks Cash Receipt, upload award letters, and review files for NFA and RFA throughout the enrollment cycle. Complete payment plan forms, assist verification-flagged students within two weeks, and seek approval for students with balances exceeding $5000 or exceeding 30 months of packaging. Maintain compliant FA files, process payments, perform nightly deposits, and communicate with students via various channels to reduce past-due accounts. Review aging reports daily, participate in weekly ledger reviews, ensure timely payments, and execute MPNs by the end of the drop/add period. Conduct entrance and exit counseling, and follow up with students to ensure all financial aid information is complete for enrollment decisions. Supervision This role reports to the Campus Director and National Director of Financial Assistance and Planning, with supervision of another advisor possible. Physical Demands This position requires frequent movement around campus, including lifting, bending, stairs, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Work Experience At least three years of business experience, preferably in financial aid or customer service. Background checks may be required.
