Retail Personal Banker I - East Cincinnati areas (Clermont & Hamilton County) Overview: Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. A certification will be awarded at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate the skills necessary to perform a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I focuses on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The position emphasizes acquiring new households and/or deepening existing customer relationships through lobby leadership in Financial Centers or aisle time in Bank Marts, and tele-consulting. This role also processes teller transactions and works as a member of the platform staff.

Responsibilities and expectations: The employee will be responsible for risk management by following policies and procedures, maintaining ethical behavior, and contributing to a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank’s risk appetite. The role includes meeting/exceeding customer experience and production goals, guiding CSRs in the sales/referral process, promoting customer satisfaction with a professional demeanor, and handling confidential information appropriately.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions using the value proposition.

Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.

Cross-sell to the existing customer base and engage in outside sales activities (e.g., Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, community financial literacy events).

Establish strong working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) to refer customers for holistic financial solutions.

Meet/exceed customer experience and production goals and contribute to year-over-year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.

Provide guidance to Customer Service Representatives regarding the sales and referral process.

Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.

Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.

Maintain trust and confidentiality in all business matters.

Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies.

Adhere to established policies and procedures while opening/servicing Retail products.

Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.

Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the Financial Center Manager.

Stay up to date on Retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and reduce risk.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

College degree or work experience providing transferable skills, or a combination of education and experience.

Experience in the financial industry preferred.

Ability to develop comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households and small business customers and/or cross-sell to established customers.

Ability to analyze credit and financial information using advanced math functions.

Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in appearance and communication (verbal and written).

Ability to develop working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to exercise sound judgment.

This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

Working Conditions

Normal office environment.

Extended viewing of computer screens.

Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility; travel outside the affiliate for classroom training may be required.
