About Canyon Creek Behavioral Health Canyon Creek Behavioral Health will open in Fall 2020, serving the behavioral health needs of adolescents and adults in Temple, Texas and all surrounding areas of Central Texas. Our behavioral health center will provide treatment options for individuals struggling with psychiatric health, chemical dependency and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Responsibilities Canyon Creek will be a 102-bed facility providing inpatient and outpatient treatment, as well as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Inpatient treatment is a form of acute hospitalization for individuals facing a psychiatric crisis. Outpatient care is provided in a less restrictive treatment environment. Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) can be an effective treatment method for patients with severe, treatment-resistant depression.

Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY The Intake Counselor, under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, interviews and assesses potential patients and inquiry callers. The Intake Counselor works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted. Also initiates the referral process when indicated, and communicates with referral sources.
Education:
Masters Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2)-three (3) years in the area of substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs.
Preferred:
Experience in intake/admissions and managed care.
License:
Must be state certified in social work or clinical related mental health field. LPC, LMSW, or LCSW, LFMT license required.
Additional Requirements:
CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Training will be offered during new hire orientation. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
