We are seeking an experienced NoSQL and DB2 on premises and Public Cloud Database Engineer to join our dynamic DB Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our database systems in both on prem and public cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of our databases, including Db2 and various NoSQL databases. As a Staff Database Engineer, you will shape the future of our database infrastructure, work on cutting-edge technologies, solve complex problems, and contribute to the success of our global payment network. Your expertise in NoSQL (Cassandra or Redis Valkey) and DB2 technologies will drive innovation and reliability of our database systems. This role contributes to design and architecture, solution engineering, and L3 support, delivering database projects, problem analysis, troubleshooting, and deploying/managing database instances on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP using cloud-native tools to enhance performance and reliability. Responsibilities

Design and Implementation: design, implement, and manage database systems in public cloud environments with high availability, performance, security, and scalability for Db2 and NoSQL databases. Database Management: deploy and manage database instances on AWS, Azure, or GCP using cloud-native tools and services. Automation and Scripting: develop and maintain scripts for database automation using Python, Ansible, or similar languages, and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible Tower, or CloudFormation. Backup and Recovery: develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to protect data and enable recovery after failures. Documentation and Reporting: maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and policies, and provide regular performance and uptime reports. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: set up and maintain database monitoring tools and resolve database-related issues promptly. Technical Influence: provide technical guidance and expertise for the database team, identifying innovative solutions. Collaboration: work with development teams to ensure database designs meet application requirements and optimize development efforts. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Visa will accept applications for this role until at least October 17, 2025. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years with an Advanced degree or 0 years with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications 6+ years with a Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years with an Advanced Degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD; 7-10 years of DBA experience with DB2 LUW and NoSQL databases; proficiency with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or Redis Valkey; experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; strong DB2 UDB RDBMS, Cassandra, and Public cloud NoSQL knowledge; UNIX and DB2 UDB utilities knowledge; UNIX networking, storage, security; SQL procedures, functions, and packages; Q Replication, Range/Hash partitioned tables, Replicated MQT and MDC; OS, scripting, data modeling, and BI tools; strong communication; ability to solve complex system issues; NoSQL knowledge (MongoDB or Cassandra) preferred; financial institution experience preferred. The estimated salary range for a new hire is 124,300 to 180,050 USD per year, may include incentives. Salary varies by knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
