RGA in St. Louis, MO seeks an Assistant Actuary primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of LDTI and performing detailed "LDTI statutory" and tax valuation / financial reporting and analysis for RGA’s US Individual Life Division. The Assistant Actuary contributes to the maintenance and enhancement of the LDTI financial forecasting infrastructure and analytic foundation by developing and maintaining actuarial data, assumptions, models and processes used not only for valuation, but also to support unbiased planning, reporting, economic capital refinement, embedded value calculation, capital planning, cash flow testing, and other such uses. Provide general valuation, financial analysis, and project assistance.
The Assistant Actuary spends most of his time (85%) performing financial reporting, analysis and forecasting for RGA’s US Individual Life Division, including i) performing detailed LDTI, statutory, tax, and GAAP valuation work for assigned business, especially focusing on offline adjustments to LDTI models and new In-Force blocks; ii) developing unbiased projections for financial planning and analysis and assisting with communication of financial analytics and results in terms of major drivers of variance and supporting LDTI Value metrics and LDTI Underwriting Margin variance analysis; iii) researching, updating, developing, maintaining, and reviewing actuarial assumptions, methods and models to ensure compliance with LDTI, and providing internal guidance and documentation.
The Assistant Actuary spends the remaining 15% of time serving as a liaison with other valuation, pricing, administration, systems, accounting, audit, and finance associates, providing guidance to new peers and/or junior associates, and performing valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon.
Qualifications
BS Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field.
At least 36 months Actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
Must possess Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) Accreditation.
Advanced PC and technical skills, including database applications (Access, Oracle, SQL or equivalent technology), spreadsheets, statistical programs and/or actuarial software (such as Prophet, MoSes, AXIS, or equivalent).
Life, health and/or annuity products.
GAAP, Statutory, and tax valuation and financial reporting.
Salary and Benefits 40 hours / week, $111,780.00. May work hybrid. 40 hours / week, $111,780.00. May work hybrid. $111,780.00 per year. Hybrid work arrangement. Compensation varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
