Job Description:
Professional career service position in the Division of Early Learning, Financial Administration and Budget Services unit. The incumbent will serve as an Accountant III, processing invoices and working primarily in FLAIR and Ariba on Demand (AOD). Responsibilities include independent application of accounting skills, auditing and processing complex contract payments, and applying applicable accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The work is in compliance with Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 69I-24 of the Florida Administrative Code.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Verify accuracy of invoices.
Ensure charges on invoices match contract terms.
Review invoices for statutory requirements and CFO regulations.
Verify vendor details and payment amounts.
Post and maintain accurate contract payment schedules.
Ensure accurate accounting information (grant, organization codes, etc.).
Enter data into FLAIR to generate payments and run summaries.
Assemble payment packages and submit documentation to the CFO.
Resolve problems with State Comptroller’s Office returned vouchers.
Scan and email EFT remits to coalitions.
Prepare monthly reconciliation of p-card charges and coalition contracts/grants.
Prepare redistributions for applicable payments to spread charges to various funding sources.
Research and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
Cancel warrants and record entries in FLAIR as needed.
Represent Finance and Accounting on teams and complete special projects as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of related work experience, preferably in accounting, business, project management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience processing transactions and entering data into FLAIR.
Experience auditing and processing complex contract payments.
Professional and educational experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Educational Substitutions:
SB 1310: Substitution of work experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
