Position Description
The Accountant is responsible for leading and supporting accounting activities that strengthen Applied Medical’s financial operations and reporting. This role plays a key part in the solution design, development, and implementation of accounting systems and processes, while ensuring compliance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and other statutory standards. By compiling and analyzing financial data, the Accountant provides reporting, insights, and recommendations that inform decision making and support business growth. Key Responsibilities
Support communication with leadership and the corporate office on accounting issues and updates. Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings (US GAAP), including journal entries and account reconciliations. Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare variance explanations for management review. Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure timely payment within the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies. Investigate customer payment discrepancies and manage follow-up on past-due accounts. Oversee cash application processes to ensure accurate and timely posting of customer receipts. Support external tax firms in preparing and filing consumption tax reports and periodic tax information. Prepare statutory filings as required (US GAAP, Korean International Financial Reporting Standards [K-IFRS]). Manage payroll and associated payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Analyze cash flow positions, prepare forecasts, and recommend actions to maintain appropriate funding levels. Support financial planning processes, audits, and internal reporting requirements. Document processes, identify improvements, and contribute to continuous efficiency initiatives. Assist leadership and cross-functional teams with financial and administrative projects as needed. This position requires the following skills and attributes: University degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred. Bookkeeping second level qualification or equivalent required. Minimum of five years of experience in finance or accounting, with strong knowledge of US GAAP reporting. Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or equivalent finance applications. Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English effectively. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues, resolve discrepancies, and improve departmental performance. Timely and professional response and follow-up to internal and external customers. Enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills and commitment to continuous process improvement. Preferred
This following skills and attributes are preferred: Certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent. Experience with multinational accounting practices and cross-border reporting requirements. Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in addition to US GAAP. Benefits
