Role Summary
The Accountant II – Finance (AIIF) is responsible for delivering
efficient, SOX-compliant, and GAAP-aligned finance processes
from transaction posting through financial close and external reporting periods (monthly, quarterly, annually). This role supports
Record to Report (R2R) processes , transforming financial data into actionable information while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
The AIIF may support specific
lines of business, regions, or accounting processes , including client onboarding and mutual fund accounting, and participates in rotational assignments to develop a broad understanding of company’s operations, regulatory requirements, and business lines.
Key Responsibilities
Process
general ledger transactions , post journal entries, and perform account reconciliations to ensure trial balance accuracy. Perform basic
accruals, adjustments, and other less complex accounting activities
as needed. Identify, analyze, and resolve
exceptions
in financial data. Support
audits, ad hoc requests, and special projects
as assigned. Capture and report
performance metrics
at functional, team, and individual levels. Develop and extend collaborative relationships with
senior clients, technology, and operational teams , resolving issues and identifying service improvements. Collaborate with
Trades, Reconciliation, Valuation, Client Onboarding, and Technology Support teams
to deliver superior service. Foot ledger to subsidiary ledger for all funds before converting onto the accounting platform. Standardize new client reporting for intake within the accounting platform using approved technology. Perform static data mapping and validate reports. Review and coordinate with clients and third parties to
improve the quality of client instructions . Determine the
Net Asset Value (NAV)
for assigned funds during each measurement cycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
3–6 years
of total work experience. Relevant experience in
mutual fund accounting . Experience with accounting applications such as
PeopleSoft
is preferred.
Skills
Strong
reconciliation skills
and attention to detail. Excellent
organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills . Self-motivated with strong
initiative, problem-solving, and critical thinking
abilities. Strong
written and oral communication
skills in English. Ability to work
flexible hours , including occasional weekends.
Preferred Attributes
Degree specifically in
Accounting or Finance . Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with large-scale client onboarding or conversions.
