Overview

Trade Finance Analyst - Cotton at Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC). Primary responsibilities / Essential functions

Coordinate with regions to consolidate and report the global daily P&L, including analysis and commentary on market drivers. Execute the daily P&L process for Cotton - Mexico. Analyze Mexico financial data and present financial reports to cotton platform management; clearly communicate daily activity and P&L drivers. Assist with analysis of commercial accounts, ledgers and reporting systems for the Fresno and Mexico commercial close. Complete market valuations testing on weekly and monthly market prices. Perform special projects as requested. Trade accounting and financial reporting activities

Perform and review commercial margin analysis; summarize monthly analyses, quarterly, and annual trading margin results. Compile weekly cash flow projections and assist in troubleshooting issues as needed. Complete quarterly valuation back-testing. Prepare and reconcile daily global position reporting. Assist in the reconciliation of the daily P&L to month-end accounting results for each profit center and assist with unreconciled items. Review by profit center of mark-to-market, cut-offs, and position for inclusiveness. Assist in completing commercial margin budget by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans. Perform/review budget-to-actual variance for commercial margin. Perform/review monthly CTM entries and reconciliations, and monthly trade reconciliations. Provide ad hoc support/reporting to commercial teams for analyses. Professional development

Pursues continuous improvement through expanding industry/company knowledge, training opportunities and taking on additional responsibilities. Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; Business/Accounting/Finance background preferred. 2+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (preferred). Relevant experience with mark-to-market accounting and trading positions within a commodity trading firm (preferred). CPA (preferred). Minimum 1+ years working directly within PnL/Finance roles involved in trade accounting activities. Demonstrated knowledge of trade accounting and financial reporting activities including commercial accounts, ledgers, and control procedures. Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BI, OneNote, and SharePoint familiarity is beneficial. Ability to work in cross-cultural and geographically dispersed teams. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Behaviors
