Overview
Position information: Undergraduate AI/ML Assistant within the Engineering Administration division at Auburn University. The position is responsible for assisting with the design, training, and validation of AI/ML models applied to cybersecurity and infrastructure datasets. Students will gain experience working with real-world data, advanced AI frameworks, and applied research projects aimed at enhancing national infrastructure resilience.
Responsibilities
Support development and training of AI/ML models
Assist with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and dataset curation
Conduct experiments to evaluate model performance and robustness
Document code, models, and experimental results
Collaborate with research staff on applied AI projects
Prepare presentations, reports, and technical demonstrations
Minimum Qualifications
Auburn University Undergraduate Student
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must have the ability to work 10+ hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate student in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Experience with Python and machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.)
Interest in cybersecurity, anomaly detection, and AI applications to real-world systems
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
Pay and Hours Pay Rate:
$15.00-$20.00 per hour
Work Hours:
10-20 hours per week
