POSITION SUMMARY: As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for detailed research and credit analysis of complex credit requests in the Commercial Credit Underwriting C&I Regional Department. The incumbent is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of credit & risk analysis, credit rules, structuring of credits, regulations, and documentation, with the ability to exercise independent judgment within established Underwriting Guidelines and Credit Policy. The role involves working with and assisting Commercial Loan Officers on customer calls and deal structuring, training less experienced staff, and handling complex assignments. The incumbent will also have responsibilities outside of credit work, such as vendor management, reporting, and special projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare loan approvals, annual reviews, and conduct credit analysis for new requests, modifications, and short-term extensions. Accompany Commercial Loan Officers on customer and prospect calls. Participate in discussions regarding creditworthiness. Conduct third-party research, including industry reports, credit reports, and real estate analysis. Prepare reports and handle special assignments. Assist in third-party vendor management. Mentor junior Credit Analysts and handle complex deals as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA preferred. Formal credit training or higher banking education. 3-10 years of experience in Commercial Banking. Knowledge of underwriting, credit analysis, and regulatory guidance. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of commercial real estate lending. Proficiency in Commercial & Industrial lending and MS Office applications. Excellent communication and prioritization skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in Credit Risk or Credit Management. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work mainly performed in a normal office environment. Prolonged sitting, lifting, occasional bending, and overhead lifting are required. HAZARDS: Standard office environment hazards. This job description may not be all-inclusive.
