US LIGHTING DESIGN ASSISTANT

Our Dallas studio supports high-end projects throughout Texas and beyond, offering clients bespoke service and world-class lighting expertise. The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Lighting Design Assistant to support our growing Dallas team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role well suited to a recent design graduate who is eager to break into the world of lighting design. The ideal candidate will support the Managing Director and Senior Designer across a range of design and administrative tasks, while learning the craft of lighting design from the ground up. Responsibilities: Support the production of drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools Assist with client presentations, sample coordination, and design documentation Join site visits and design installations as needed Help manage design files and keep studio documentation organized Draft and send emails on behalf of the team Coordinate and schedule meetings, presentations, and internal reviews Liaise with suppliers and vendors where appropriate Assist in keeping project schedules and timelines on track Provide general support across all areas of the studio to ensure smooth operations Key Skills and Attributes: A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail Excellent time management and organizational skills Confidence communicating professionally by email and in person A basic knowledge of AutoCAD (Revit, SketchUp or Lumion is a bonus) A genuine interest in lighting design and a desire to build a long-term career in the field Recent graduates in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field are encouraged to apply Must be based in Dallas, TX and able to work on-site Why Join Us: Direct mentorship from industry-leading lighting designers Fast-track promotion opportunities for the right candidate to become a Lighting Designer Access to some of the most prestigious residential projects in the region A tight-knit, supportive, and ambitious team Opportunity to shape the future of our Dallas studio as it grows To Apply: Please submit your CV, portfolio, and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are the perfect fit for the Lighting Design Assistant position at John Cullen Lighting to our Recruitment Team .
