Arizona Opera announces auditions for Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Tenor, and Pianist artists for the 2026 Arlyn M. Brewster Phoenix OperaTunity Troupe. This group travels to area schools performing all-school assemblies for elementary aged students. Production Information Rehearsal Period, Tour Dates & Schedule :
Rehearsal : Monday, January 5 – Friday, January 16, 2026,
Tour Dates : Tuesday, January 20 - Friday, May 15, 2026 Schedule: Monday 8-12 PM, Tuesday 8-4 PM, Wednesdays - OFF, Thursday 8-12 PM, Friday 8-12 PM Salary Details : $1,800 paid in two installments each month Show Summary : Told through the eyes of Rusalka, a curious young mermaid longing for life on land, this underwater adventure explores what it means to dream big, take risks, and discover where you truly belong. With music adapted from Dvořák’s original score, Rusalka: The Littlest Mermaid is a charming and accessible introduction to opera for young audiences. Available Roles : Rusalka - Soprano Rusalka's Sister/Prince's Sister - Soprano Sea Witch - Mezzo-Soprano or Dramatic Soprano Prince - Tenor Pianist Additional Information : This is a part-time position. No housing or stipend is provided for this position. Audition Information : Submit your video audition.
Requirements : For Singers: Please prepare two pieces, one must be a song or aria in English. For Pianist: Please prepare two pieces, one must be the provided excerpt from Rusalka: The Littlest Mermaid. Pianist Audition Excerpt
