Reporting to AIG’s Americas Controller, the Global Operating Expense Controller will be primarily responsible for leading end-to-end accounting operations and associated internal/ external reporting for AIG. This high-profile role is structured with multiple direct reports in total supported by a team of outsourced resources. The Controller will own the close execution (Monthly & Quarterly) and have full accountability for timely and accurate delivery key financial metrics for expenses. Success in this role will require knowledge of relevant US GAAP, hands on experience with closing and reporting of public company financials, leadership an ability to efficiently engage various levels of available resources, ability to understand groupwide context of segment results and capability to lead a team in a dynamic and transformational environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and stakeholders. Assist in coordinating the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors. Financial Operations Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. Team Leadership and Development Supervise all ongoing controllership activities of direct reports. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Strategic Initiatives Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial processes and systems. Compliance and Risk Management Monitor financial activities for compliance with laws and regulations. Identify and mitigate financial risks. Special Projects Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by executive team. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA preferred 15+ years experience in Finance and Accounting with proven track record in a leadership role Strong operational experience with U.S. GAAP Worked in SAP environment Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data Ability to work independently with strict timelines Demonstrated strong business and financial acumen as well as advanced change management and project management skills Experience in managing a global team Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities Team player with good problem-solving skills who is willing to learn AIG provides equal opportunity to all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, age, gender, gender expression, national origin, veteran status, disability or any other legally protected categories. AIG offers a range of competitive benefits, including a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$220,000 per year.
