Sentry
The General, a subsidiary of Sentry Insurance, is seeking an experienced Field Appraiser to join our growing team. In this position, you’ll complete repair estimates both virtually and at the vehicle in a designated territory while working closely with customers and repair facilities to ensure fast and accurate repair costs
What You'll Do As a Field Appraiser, you will: Evaluate items such as labor costs, part prices, and repair services to ensure estimates are accurately completed and fairly priced.
Evaluate claim damages and calculate actual cash values for damaged items that may be beyond repair by reviewing items such as accurate conditioning, options, mileage, and unrelated/related prior damage to ensure cost of repairs do not exceed replacement cost
Communicate with repair facilities and/or external vendors to negotiate pricing and come to an agreement on required repairs. Reinspect and negotiate supplemental damages with external contacts when additional repairs are uncovered, ensuring all claims are brought to a fair and equitable conclusion
Communicate with customers, salvage vendors/tow yards and repair facilities to schedule inspections, explain repair estimates, answer questions, and/or provide information throughout the repair process
What it Takes Ability to obtain and maintain state specific property and casualty claims licensing as required
Ability to obtain and maintain state specific appraisal licensing as required
Strong knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.
Strong knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualtycoverages, or other equivalent knowledge.
Demonstrated experience handling moderate to highly complex claims and vehicle damages, or other equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
