D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a
Loan Originator Assistant - Unlicensed
for our Financial Services Branch. The right candidate will support the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) to focus on producing more volume and providing a higher level of customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate with parties to the transaction to update them on loan status.
Track outstanding applications and loan documents and call customers to follow up.
Schedule appointments for the MLO.
Assist the MLO in converting prequalification to applications in the LOS, handling the administrative setup of the electronic loan package. The MLO should select product, loan terms, etc., which should be in the MLO’s name in the LOS.
Assist MLO in preparing loan application documentation for processing.
Assist MLO in returning phone calls when appropriate. Only basic status updates or requests for information may be made. Note: LOA – Unlicensed is
prohibited
from communicating or negotiating loan terms, rates, etc., with consumers.
Monitor pipeline reports daily for application status and communicate with processors regularly to ensure loans are progressing.
Occasionally assist with initial setup of files, such as ordering appraisals, titles, verifications, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Important Note Unlicensed Loan Originator Assistants are prohibited from originating loan applications or communicating loan terms to customers. If a customer requests specific information about Loan Origination, they must be referred immediately to a licensed individual.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
