What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Provide financial and accounting expertise to departmental management and external partners
Support the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and related deliverables
Prepare complex financial statement reports and conduct high-level analyses
Interpret and apply accounting policies and procedures as per state guidelines
Direct and assign accounting tasks to ensure timely completion of work
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field
Minimum of one year of accounting experience in a related field
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Proficiency in automated accounting systems and software applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with federal and state financial reporting requirements
Familiarity with the State of Arizona Accounting Manual (SAAM)
Background in project management and strategic planning
Participation in accounting seminars or educational opportunities
Collaborative mindset with experience working in team environments
