POSITION OVERVIEW
This Senior Analyst position is in the Corporate Actuarial Department at Global Atlantic’s Boston or Des Moines office, reporting to the AVP, Actuarial Modeling. The position offers great opportunities to interact with experienced actuaries across multiple functions (e.g. modeling, risk, valuation and cash flow testing), and to gain experience in the actuarial modeling and analysis of a variety of complex product lines and asset classes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain actuarial models in MG-ALFA for cash flow testing, FP&A projections and other ALM purposes.
Identify and implement improvements to corporate models and related processes, always looking to reduce unnecessary complexity, streamline model updates and the production of model results, improve the accuracy of actuarial projections, and optimize the efficiency of model computation/runtime.
Prepare model change analysis, regression testing, impact quantification, and documentation for ongoing model development.
Support cash flow testing production process and external audit of model and results as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or other related fields.
ASA or FSA with 3+ years of experience in the life and annuity insurance industry.
Direct experience with MG-ALFA or other actuarial modeling software is preferred.
US Statutory valuation and/or cash flow testing experience is preferred.
Self-starter and quick learner, being able to solve complex issues independently and in collaborative team settings.
Strong communication, problem-solving, technical and analytical skills.
Results-oriented, with ability to execute multiple high-priority items simultaneously.
Ambition and desire to succeed by delivering quality and effective results.
Ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
