Job Summary/Purpose This position ensures the stability and integrity of the data network environment. The role involves planning, designing, implementing, and operating the network environment and components across the organization.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Provide detailed network designs to support business requests, including routing, switching, load balancer, DDI, mesh networking, wireless technologies, and data center and corporate environments.

Develop implementation plans for simple and complex change requests.

Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software, and communication links.

Analyze troubleshooting support at physical, data plane, control plane, and protocol layers.

Maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.

Oversee and implement new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

Research network products, protocols, and standards to stay current with industry developments.

Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Provide on‑call 24x7 support for emergent issues in corporate, OT, and automated meter distribution network environments.

Work with business and project management teams to review strategies and requirements, ensuring continuous maintenance of business and functional requirements throughout the development process.

Capture business capability requirements and create an actionable IT‑Networking roadmap.

Support infrastructure leadership in identifying opportunities for emerging technologies and provide advisory roles on the impact of new technologies.

Maintain strong understanding of networking technology needs and solutions, regularly visiting business units to assess satisfaction and identify follow‑up opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related discipline.

Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

IT Consultant: 6+ years of relevant experience; 3+ years of solution design experience.

Senior IT Consultant: 10+ years relevant experience; 5+ years of solution design experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge/experience in network technologies, protocols, security tools, and packet capture troubleshooting.

Understanding of routing, switching, and network security technologies.

Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS‑IS) and networking features such as NAT, access lists, route redistribution, IP multicast, VLANs, spanning tree, spine‑leaf architecture.

Strong understanding of IP addressing design.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to document business requirements and develop technical solutions.

Experience managing project deliverables and leading major implementation projects.

Knowledge of cloud networking and automation/scripting tools is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with Cisco network infrastructure and appliances.

Strong analytical and data analysis skills.

Certificates, Licenses, and Certifications

CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent network associate/professional level.

Cloud certifications are a plus.
