Overview
Vaco has partnered with a rapidly growing tech company that is well positioned in the clean energy space and they are looking to hire a Controller to their team. The Controller will play a key leadership role in managing the company’s accounting operations and financial integrity. This individual will oversee all aspects of the accounting function—including financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and compliance—while supporting the company’s rapid growth and scale. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable leading a team and building systems in a dynamic, evolving environment. Responsibilities
Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee cost accounting process Implement and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support a high-growth environment. Partner with FP&A, operations, and leadership teams to provide actionable financial insights. Manage annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors. Support ERP implementation, process automation, and other system enhancements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in a high-growth or complex organization. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems. Experience in manufacturing, technology, or energy industries preferred. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work cross-functionally. Proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
