Bring your energy, creativity, and passion for service to the rink as a key player on the Community Relations team. As the Community Relations Coordinator, you will support the daily planning and execution of community outreach programs, fan development and grow-the-game initiatives, and Islanders Children’s Foundation fundraising and events. You’ll help ensure Islanders fans of all ages feel connected, supported, and engaged—whether at a school assembly, a street hockey clinic, or a themed game night. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Community Relations and works closely with teammates across departments including Marketing, Amateur Hockey, Game Presentation, and Sales & Partnerships among others.

Community Relations & Foundation Support
Review, fulfill, and track in-kind donation requests and fan correspondence
Assist in the planning and execution of premiere and secondary level New York Islanders Children’s Foundation (ICF) fundraising events such as:
Golf Outing
50/50 Raffle
Seasonal Auctions/Raffles
Assist in the planning and execution of community investment-based programs such as:
Backpack Program
Community Drives
Support the ideation and implementation of community activations tied to major theme nights including: Hockey Fights Cancer, Military Appreciation, Hockey is for Everyone, First Responder Appreciation among others
Fan Development & Grow the Game Initiatives
Serve as day-to-day lead on Islanders Kids Club including: budgeting, planning, fulfillment and activation
Assist with implementation of school-based programs:
Islanders @ School Assembly Program
Floorball Program
Assist in planning, budgeting and on-site execution of Islanders Community Events Tour and Street Hockey programs
Event Execution & Game Night Support
Support game night 50/50 raffle operations and logistics as well as fulfillment
Assist with set-up, breakdown, and on-site logistics for both home games and off-site events
Serve as lead for first game certificate program
Serve as a brand ambassador in the community, representing the Islanders with professionalism and enthusiasm
Relationship Management
Assist in managing relationships with nonprofit organizations and community partners
Collaborate with the website content team to ensure Community Relations pages are accurate and up to date
Maintain accurate records and databases related to community based programs participation
Collaborate with marketing and content facing teams to promote community initiatives and programs
Collaborate corporate partnership and sales teams to maximize revenue opportunities across community programs
Oversee departments internship team
Assist the department with Alumni events and tracking of alumni spend
Your Training & Talent
1–2 years of experience in community relations, fan development, or nonprofit work (preferably within sports or entertainment)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience with platforms such as Handbid, GiveSmart, Donation Xchange is a plus
Must have valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift moderate weight and stand for prolonged periods at games/events
Willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Office Home Bases: Northwell Health Ice Center (East Meadow, NY) and Islanders Executive Offices (Floral Park, NY)
Various community events throughout Long Island and the NY Metro area
