Roles and Responsibilities The Echocardiogram Technologist performs routine and emergency echocardiography and specialized echocardiography, including Trans‑esophageal, Stress, and non‑invasive cardiology testing. The Echo Tech assists with non‑invasive Cardiology testing, including EKGs, explains the purpose of the procedure to the patient and family, and performs all procedures in a timely manner. The Echo Tech demonstrates knowledge of proper patient positioning, maintains the patient procedure log, reports statistics to the manager/Director, informs physicians of significant abnormalities, and acts as the liaison to the cardiologist to ensure all tests are interpreted in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree aligned with RDCS or RCS certification requirements

Current BLS (AHA)

Current RDCS by ARDMS required or RCS by CCI required
