Overview
2026 Entry Level IT Analyst at Caterpillar Inc. This role supports the Caterpillar IT Function with development, testing and implementation of application systems across the enterprise. Proficiency in core application systems, problem solving, application design/architecture, implementation, system integration and system testing is required. You will work independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects spanning multiple applications. The IT Analyst adds value through support of internal and external/partner systems and applications.
Responsibilities
Participates in IT functions like developing, coding, and testing computer programs.
Assists in preparing technical and procedural documentation.
Assists with detailed flowcharts to show processing logic for simple application programs.
Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements innovative solutions to enhance system performance.
Contributes to programming system operations, including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.

Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as Java, JavaScript, SQL, Db2, .NET, C, C++, C#, User Experience, HTML, AWS, and Azure. These skills are crucial for developing robust and efficient application systems.
Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to take initiative.
Strong communication, teamwork, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and customer service skills to troubleshoot issues and provide effective support to internal and external users.
Ability to work independently and manage time as well as collaborate as a team member.
Familiarity with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence to best practices in all aspects of the role.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related technical field from a four-year accredited college or university.
Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0 on 4.0 scale (no rounding).
Previous technical internship or work experience outside of classroom setting.
Desired Qualifications
Up to 12 months of professional experience in this field (excluding internships).
