FOSTER HOME LICENSING SPECIALIST - DETROIT AREA

Devise, implement, and evaluate strategies and recruitment plans to ensure adequate foster homes in accordance with program, organization, and contractual requirements and standards. Develop and maintain current contact files with recruitment sources, prospective foster home data files, and mailing lists. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with religious/community groups and key individuals to increase awareness of foster care needs and services. In coordination with the communications and planning department, develop and circulate promotional materials. Make press releases and presentations to promote foster care awareness and recruitment under the direction of the director. Plan and conduct orientation meetings and pre-service training with prospective foster parents. Complete original home studies for new foster parent applicants. Complete annual and renewal license assessments, and all licensing actions related to foster home changes within prescribed timeframes. Investigate complaints against foster families thoroughly and timely; provide reports to appropriate parties and agencies. Provide ongoing training and consultation for foster parents. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies; maintain statistical data and generate reports as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field. State of Michigan Licensed Social Worker preferred. Experience Experience in child welfare preferred. Additional Requirements May require extended and weekend hours. Unrestricted Michigan driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; proof of automobile insurance. #socialwork #childwelfare #socialservices
