Job Summary Caterpillar is seeking a Snowflake Architect to join the team responsible for overall management of the Snowflake platform for our enterprise. This includes the evaluation and deployment of new features, training and advisory services, architectural guidance, platform support, and advocacy with Snowflake for improvements to meet Caterpillar's unique business requirements. The Snowflake Architect should be a proactive self-starter, capable of hands‑on development, configuration, and system setup for early‑stage POCs/POVs. A strong passion for solving data‑driven challenges is essential. The role requires a broad skill set, including data architecture, ETL, security, cloud data warehousing, data cataloging, performance analysis, analytics, and a working knowledge of Snowflake AI capabilities.

What You Will Do

Provide in-depth technical architectural design and support during program/project solution analysis and design to ensure roadmap alignment.

Design Data Quality and data security processes to ensure Data Completeness, Consistency and Accuracy.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure data architecture alignment with key portfolio initiatives on the basis of cost, functionality and practicality.

Lead POC’s as part of implementing Snowflake features along with architecting and implementing data lake initiatives.

Recommend solutions to improve new and existing Data Warehouse and Analytics solutions.

Create, publish, maintain and influence the data warehouse patterns across development and architecture community in Snowflake.

Develop best practices and training materials to accelerate onboarding and help the business grow the right way.

What You Have

Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, conceptualization, and communication skills.

7+ years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining the data architecture, data models and standards for various Data Integration & Data Warehousing projects in Snowflake, combined with other technologies.

3+ years of experience in implementing Snowflake advanced concepts like setting up resource monitors, RBAC controls, data sharing, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, Zero copy clone, and time travel.

Understanding of AI concepts and experience working with Snowflake AI capabilities.

Hands‑on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, and SlowAlert.

Experience with storage & integration technologies on AWS and/or Azure.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

SnowPro Core and/or Advanced Certifications.

Other cloud, data or AI certifications.

Additional Info

The ideal location for this role is East Peoria – IL, Irving – TX, Nashville – TN.

This position requires the employee to work a 5‑day‑a‑week schedule in the office.

This position may require 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range $126,000.00 - $189,000.00
