Job Summary TSC does not sponsor work visas. This role supports many facets of the Information Technology hardware, software, server, storage and network infrastructure and environments. The System Administrator will install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain hardware/software and administer system accounts. The role also administers on‑premise and cloud‑based applications as required, ensuring operational integrity and availability of critical systems at the College. It reports to the IT Technical Director and ultimately to the Vice President of Information Technology.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Configure hardware, software and operating systems to ensure business operations maintain high availability.
Designs system integration success between critical systems and ensures group policies and access control lists comply with organizational standards.
Manage, monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, Multi‑Factor Authentication and Single Sign‑On.
Manage databases, application programming interfaces, system accounts and network rights.
Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability.
Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures and baseline system security.
Plan, execute and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
Install, update and troubleshoot systems/servers, including upgrades and patch management.
Manage Microsoft Azure environment, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, Microsoft Office 365 tenants, Microsoft Defender and Mobile Device Management (Microsoft Intune).
Apply SSL certificates to systems and servers and serve as SharePoint administrator.
Oversee installation, implementation, configuration and support of system components.
Diagnose and repair faulty system/server hardware and troubleshoot hardware/software/network interface problems.
Assist users with retrieving documentation and data.
Administer teleconferencing technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Dialpad.
Set up and maintain system backups, disaster recovery tools (Unitrends) and understanding of cloud computing requirements.
Write scripts/programming code to automate tasks like software installation, setting configurations and system monitoring.
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls under direction of the Technical Director and CISO.
Develop documentation including technical information, diagrams, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures and IT policies as required.
Interact with the Executive Director of Applications to ensure system availability and efficiency.
Develop training materials for staff and investigate new technologies, interacting with vendors under direction of the Technical Director and VPIT.
Follow information security protocols, change management and project management protocols as developed by the IT department.
Provide regular and ad hoc system reports as required, including responses for public information requests (PIRs).
Participate in IT project planning and participate in college events and exercises as required.
