$70,000 - $90,000 Position Overview
Seeking a Systems Administrator (SA) to join Department of State Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO). The ideal candidate will work with minimal direction, install, configure, troubleshoot, and support desktop and server platforms at domestic consular facilities. The SA supports IT Operations and Maintenance for HW/SW platforms and ensures security and internal controls. Core Work Schedule
First shift, approximately 7am – 3:30pm, Monday‑Friday. Key Responsibilities
Deliver measurable results at a client site in a fast‑paced environment. Plan, install, train, support, monitor, and maintain HW and software including Active Directory, SCCM, and CA applications. Coordinate risks impacting IT services and report to CA/CST management. Plan upgrades, audit, replace HW/SW, and prepare for consolidation or decommission. Perform backups, restores, purges, and ongoing data management. Monitor and document abnormal performance using monitoring tools. Provide server and workstation security services and monthly audits for security integrity. Remediate vulnerabilities and enforce Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Intune compliance. Maintain antivirus and host‑based firewall policies. Support hardware maintenance for servers, workstations, printers, scanners, and Passport Card Printer. Provide Active Directory service and privilege administration, badge logon administration, and share permissions. Support DHCP, Print Server, Exchange/O365 management. Provide end‑user software and Office application support. Develop, maintain, and communicate technical documentation and diagrams. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of IT support experience; Bachelor's degree with 2‑4 years of experience; Master’s degree with 0‑2 years. Systems Administrator experience in a Windows‑based environment. Preferred Qualifications
Strong Systems Administrator experience in a Windows‑based environment. Knowledge of Cisco switching and routing technologies. Experience with ServiceNow or Remedy Ticket Management System. Experience with IBML Scanner Appliances and Entrust MX6000/MX6100 Card Printer Appliances. Experience with Intermec PM43 Label Printers. CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ Certifications.
