Overview
The IT Security Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its information systems. This position is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents and threats while overseeing access control measures and managing user permissions for the organization’s corporate domain and applications. The IT Security Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess risks, implement security controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Essential Roles and Responsibilities
User Account Management: Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across IT systems, applications, and network resources. Access Control Inventory: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all granted user permissions. Compliance Support: Ensure that user permissions and access management align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Security Monitoring: Monitor security events, logs, and alerts from systems such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms. Incident Detection & Investigation: Detect, analyze, and investigate anomalies and potential security incidents. Threat Intelligence: Leverage threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies. Security Controls Implementation: Support the deployment of security controls, procedures, and best practices. Remediation Planning: Assist with remediation plans resulting from internal or external security assessments. Risk Mitigation: Recommend improvements to security controls based on research, analysis, and evolving technologies. Collaboration: Work closely with IT and other departments to resolve security-related issues and strengthen the organization’s overall security posture. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Education & Professional Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in IT Security roles. Experience using security tools such as SIEM, Firewalls, Endpoint Protection Solutions, and permission management systems. Experience in a highly regulated industry preferred. Licensure / Certifications
Preferred: CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Network+, or equivalent technical certification. Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured and process-driven approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong research and technical documentation skills. Team-oriented mindset and proactive attitude toward continuous improvement. Knowledge
Familiarity with IT Security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook). Excellent understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles. Knowledge of customer service best practices and user support. Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
