Work within a 100% digital environment, often independently or as part of a team, handling biometric requests and casework.
This role is unique due to its digital focus, supporting DoD efforts to build and search biometric files using DoD ABIS, performing complex examinations on fragmented friction ridge impressions, facial, and iris images. Candidates will transform non-digital comparison skills into a digital environment and receive training on facial and iris identifications.
Perform biometric examinations, comparisons, and identifications to support the DoD Warfighter and national security.
Enhance skills using Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Lakota Whorl, and other tools, with training provided on facial and iris examinations.
Typical Day: The operation is fully digital. The typical day involves working on a Windows 10 computer, performing biometric examinations and comparisons for internal and external requests.
Responsibilities:
Prepare biometric files for entry into DoD ABIS using digital imaging techniques.
Monitor queue applications and resolve transactions.
Manually compare biometric data to identify or exclude individuals.
Verify fingerprint sequences and orientations.
Document case notes, generate reports, and maintain SOPs and WIs.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree with 6 years related experience, or Associate’s with 8 years, or High School diploma with 10 years.
Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret and FBI CJIS access.
Pass proficiency testing.
Willing to work shifts (10-12 hours), including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Willing to relocate or commute to Clarksburg, WV.
Complete pre-employment assessment.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification by the IAI as a Certified Tenprint Examiner.
Experience with tenprint, facial, or iris examinations.
Experience with digital imaging tools (Adobe Photoshop preferred).
Experience with AFIS/ABIS systems.
Physical Requirements: Work involves long hours at a computer in an office environment.
Work Shift Details:
Willingness to work 10- or 12-hour shifts, 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Shifts are primarily set, with no rotation.
Shift times vary; options include day, afternoon, and evening shifts.
Additional Information:
US citizenship required.
Must obtain/maintain US Secret clearance; current Interim Secret or Secret clearance preferred.
