We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Staff Accountant within our Financial Reporting team to help support our business. As a Staff Accountant you will have the opportunity to interact with and support other departments and staff within the business. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by analyzing and reconciling financial transactions. The team you will be working with is collaborative, and values hard work.

What will you be doing as a Staff Accountant?

Record financial transactions in assigned areas

Participate in the preparation of the Company’s consolidated financial statements, SEC filings, and Audit Committee materials

Analyze and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement activity

Collaborate with other departments across Corporate and operating locations

Support internal and external audits

Prepare annual financial statements for benefit plan audits

Assist with special projects

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum of 15 hours of accounting)

Cumulative 3.30 GPA and 3.50 GPA in major

Strong understanding of accounting principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Time management and prioritization abilities

Team‑oriented mindset (in both a remote or an in‑office setting)

Problem‑solving skills

Ability to support cross‑functional teams (Finance, Tax, Credit, IT, etc.)

Excel proficiency with formulas and large datasets

Things we consider a plus:

2 years of accounting experience, especially with a publicly traded company or a public CPA firm

CMA and/or CPA designation

Master’s Degree

Experience with :

Microsoft Dynamics AX (general ledger)

Artificial Intelligence Programs

Power BI

Workiva (filings with the SEC)
