Job Summary

The Associate/Sr. Associate position offers a qualified individual exposure to all aspects of M&A and strategic investments. The associate assumes significant responsibilities, including exploring new investment opportunities, performing valuations using a variety of methodologies, preparing and delivering presentations and reports, conducting research, analyzing business models, and participating in due diligence and deal negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

Research emerging aerospace and defense technologies, competitive landscapes, and geopolitical trends to identify acquisition, strategic investment and/or partnership opportunities Track U.S. Department of Defense budget priorities, procurement programs, and policy changes impacting the industry Support all phases of M&A and strategic investment processes including target screening, valuation, due diligence, and integration planning Build and maintain detailed financial models using DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparable, and synergy analyses to assess deal economics Review detailed capitalization tables to model/assess ownership structures for prospective investments and acquisitions Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate investment risk and return profiles Maintain a deal-flow database with information from Hanwha’s existing and newly developed network of relationships Prepare presentations and investment memos for internal & external communications Provide analytical support and thought partnership to senior team members Conduct ongoing monitoring of portfolio assets and market changes to support informed decision-making Collaborate effectively with other affiliated members and management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution 4 - 6 years of relevant experience as an Analyst/Associate in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate development Familiarity with U.S. defense compliance and regulations (ITAR, CFIUS, FOCI, etc) Strong understanding of startup financing instruments (convertible notes, SAFEs) Excellent financial modeling skills and strong accounting background Experience in aerospace and defense industries Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly Ability to interact with staff at all levels in fast-paced environments Demonstrated analytical rigor and structured problem-solving skills Team player with experience working both collaborative and independent roles Previous experience in a multinational company preferred

Work Authorization : The ideal candidate for this role must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Base Salary Range:

The anticipated annual salary range is $100,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including qualifications, education, experience, and location. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
