Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Assistant Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations, while supporting the company’s continued expansion. This role combines leadership, technical accounting expertise, and cross-functional collaboration—working closely with operations, project managers, and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting – Lead and support the month-end close process (8-day close) and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. General Ledger & Controls – Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and the integrity of the general ledger; maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and documentation. Team Leadership – Provide day-to-day oversight of AR/AP staff, ensuring alignment with billing terms, compliance, and process accuracy. Mentor and support team development. Audit & Compliance – Prepare supporting documentation for external financial and insurance audits; ensure tax compliance including sales and property tax filings. Fixed Assets – Own fixed asset accounting and maintain reconciliations. Process Improvement – Identify and implement efficiencies across financial processes, systems, and reporting tools. Support ERP/system initiatives. Special Projects – Contribute to ad hoc projects such as M&A due diligence, rebate programs, and financial modeling in support of growth initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or other project-based industries. Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, WIP, Rebates, and revenue recognition. Prior supervisory experience with AR/AP or general accounting staff. Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite a plus). Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across departments. Why Join?
