Sr. Tax Associate I

Mercer Advisors is hiring a Senior Tax Associate I to join our Tax Team. The Tax group provides tax compliance services to our high-net-worth clients, working with wealth advisors. The role emphasizes client service with a focus on tax returns, projections, and analysis without the traditional billable-hour pressures of public accounting. We offer work/life balance, a supportive environment, and opportunities to work with a variety of clients. We do not do audits or assurance work, and there are no business development requirements. Essential Job Functions Will Include: Prepare tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and businesses Create quarterly estimates and projections Communicate clearly and concisely with clients regarding the delivery of income tax returns Perform tax research Provide timely and accurate responses to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis for tax and wealth management clients Coordinate with tax support staff to ensure timely workflow and data integrity Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and assist with preparation of correspondence Stay up to date on tax law changes and communicate their effects to clients Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Minimum of 1-3 years of public accounting experience, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Moderate tax code knowledge and general accounting skills CPA and/or EA certification in progress or preferred Master’s degree in Tax a plus Experience with UltraTax and Sureprep a plus Highly organized and tax-oriented Ability to handle a large volume of activities concurrently Ability to explain concepts to clients and advisors clearly Attention to detail and strong time-management skills Work Schedule: This professional role requires availability during standard business hours Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM, with Saturdays as needed during tax season. Some early or late hours may be required to meet deadlines. Working Conditions: This position may be in a professional office or a dedicated home office workspace free of interruptions. Either setting requires basic technology. Routine sitting and occasional standing are expected. Salary: Average annual salary range across locations is $65,000 to $115,000. Final base pay is determined by location, experience, education, skills, and licenses/certifications. This position is eligible for incentive compensation through Mercer Advisors’ programs.
