Overview
Personal Financial Counselor; Nashville, TN role at Magellan Federal. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, including counseling, education, and resources for service members and their families. Responsibilities
Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle. Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilizes virtual counseling or electronic communication modes (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconferencing). Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from the installations. Participates in regular in-services, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. The duties above are representative and not all-inclusive; leadership may assign additional duties as appropriate. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree required. May consider an associate degree + 4 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor\'s degree, or a high school diploma + 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor\'s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Ability to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Job Information
