Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role will maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, and provide insights that drive organizational decision-making. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring ledger integrity, supporting audits, and mentoring junior staff while contributing to a collaborative and mission-driven workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts; prepare adjusting journal entries. Prepare monthly financial statements and perform monthly bank reconciliations for all cash, savings, and investment accounts. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules. Identify capitalizable purchases, assign asset numbers, calculate depreciation and amortization. Ensure compliance with asset capitalization and disposal policies. Process journal entries for assigned areas during monthly close. Ensure proper recording of capital projects and balance sheet items. Review Accounts Payable and purchasing transactions for compliance with internal policies. Assist in annual audit preparation, including schedules and documentation and respond to audit requests. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Experience with reconciliations, fixed asset management, and financial reporting. Workday preferred Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
