Mortgage Consultant
for the Morgan Stanley Home Loans team. The MC will use in-depth industry knowledge and experience to provide an excellent client experience to Financial Advisors and their wealth management clients throughout the home loans mortgage origination cycle. Position can be based in Dallas, TX or Tempe, AZ. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in jumbo mortgages, complex income and assets, and have a high degree of comfort engaging with affluent clients and their advisors. An individual that exhibits high energy, takes ownership, and demonstrates a collaborative pro-active approach is critical for this role. Job Description/Position Responsibilities:
The MC will form deep working relationships with Financial Advisors and Personal Bankers. Assist in providing expert advice and problem-solving skills to help meet client mortgage needs.
Ability to work as part of a team assigned to a Complex /Branch level coverage and grow the market share through business referrals.
Provide the best rate execution and proper product selection for the clients.
Act as the “face” of the business by owning the client experience up to and including loan registration, following up on potential client referrals and working with the client to complete a high quality, accurate and compliant mortgage application.
Work directly with Private Bankers (Field Sales) to reach complex /branch growth targets.
Maintain and follow up on a pipeline of client referrals.
Analyze financial information to assess whether clients and the property may qualify for a particular lending solution and find the best option for their mortgage needs.
Participate in business partner events and office activities which promote the Home Loan team.
Partner with Mortgage Specialist Team to ensure the seamless transfer of the loan application in a timely manner once the intent to proceed has been received.
Manage multiple responsibilities including inbound/outbound queue management, multi‑campaign work, and client follow-up.
Knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRID.
Obtain documents to satisfy conditions for underwriting approval and product/pricing negotiations as necessary.
Provide perspective and feedback to client experience enhancements and process efficiencies.
Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
Qualifications :
4-8 years of relevant mortgage experience (Sales and/or Operations preferred)
Experience in Client relationship management roles.
Experience in loan origination
Established track record of developing and maintaining client relationships in a Sales or Operational setting.
Proven track record of meeting individual and organizational loan production goals while maintaining a large client base.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Wealth Management/Private Banking experience preferred.
Eligible for employment with an FDIC-insured institution and able to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry ("NMLS") as a mortgage loan originator.
Skills/Abilities :
Extensive knowledge of mortgage products and client service experience
In-depth knowledge of the compliance regulations and laws that govern consumer mortgage lending, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRID
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills required
Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership; ability to manage time, prioritize and plan accordingly
Proficient in the use of a variety of systems for accurate reporting and tracking, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Achieve high levels of Client and Financial Advisor satisfaction
Proactively manage loan escalations as needed to ensure a timely resolution while providing an enhanced client experience
