Summary:

This is a Senior Underwriting position responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business. Responsibilities may also include participating in special projects and mentoring less experienced staff. Responsibilities

Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for the assigned area. Ensure marketing initiatives are achieved and that consistent communication of products and services is provided to our retail and wholesale brokers. Further develop existing broker relations as well as establish new relationships in targeted territories to attract business opportunities. Actively participate in client and broker meetings. Develop and maintain a submission pipeline sufficient to achieve overall production and business mix objectives. Use market contacts to bring in business, gather and share market intelligence and cross-sell other products. Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of experience and education. A strong desire to continually update your skills through continuing education and self-development. Previous insurance educational work; IIA and CPCU designations are strongly preferred. Minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority. Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations on every interaction. Demonstrated robust relationships with professional liability specialist brokers in the Central U.S. market. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of favorable win/win outcomes. Adaptability and ability to thrive in change. Execution-focused with the ability to deliver results. Proven ability to collect, analyze and interpret information to underwrite accounts profitably. Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time. Additional Information
