Job Overview
We are thrilled to announce that we are hiring a Senior Accountant to our high performing team! This mid-level accounting position will support our Specialty Infrastructure Strategic Business Unit and will provide accounting expertise and direction to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of accounting and financial transactions and will assist with implementing processes that ensure strong internal controls. The role will support the SBU’s general accounting processes including accounts payable, account receivable, costing, Capex, and month-end close.
Position provides for a Hybrid work schedule with ability to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Relocation assistance available to qualified candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform month end close routines, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Analyze financial transactions for errors or deficiencies, identify root causes and remediation plans, and implement improvements to prevent recurrences.
Assess proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, costing, inventory, fixed assets and general ledger.
Work with the accounting and finance teams to design effective accounting and reporting processes with an appropriate focus on internal controls.
Assist with both internal and external financial audit activities.
Support the business with Capex tracking and reporting.
Provide training to other departments to explain accounting procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ability to travel to different sites to support as needed.
Skills And Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
CPA, CMA and/or MBA a plus.
Minimum five years accounting experience including accounts payable and general ledger, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Operates efficiently and effectively with minimal oversight.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Experience with ERP software (SAP preferred).
Strong understanding of accounting principles.
Strong understanding of internal controls, process flows and policies and procedures.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work and effectively interact with various departments throughout the organization.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, forward-thinking work environment.
