Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Credit Analyst to join our treasury team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to inform credit decisions for assigned lines of business.

This role will work closely with our commercial leaders and requires strong business acumen and understanding of credit risk management.

This role will also be responsible for executing effective collection strategies for a select group of strategic customers and supporting other special projects as needed.

Assess the credit worthiness of public and privately held companies through financial analysis, market data and other available information

Partner with financial and commercial teams to understand and optimize reward/risk tradeoffs in counterparty relationships to drive decisions aligned with Eastman’s risk philosophy

Recommend and approve credit limits based on credit risk profile

Leverage data, automation, and emerging technologies to streamline credit processes, improve risk assessments, and drive value-added insights

Build and maintain relationships with counterparties to support credit risk analysis and credit negotiations

Prepare and present credit information and insights to business leaders during monthly commercial meetings to support strategic decisions

Advise business leaders on strategies for managing high credit risk customers

Establish and monitor credit limits and payment terms based on customer risk profiles

Develop and execute effective collection strategies for select, strategic customers to optimize cash flow and reduce credit risk

Analyze customer payment patterns to identify areas for improvement

Participate in other special projects as needed

Track and stay abreast of market changes related to counterparty, industry and/or country developments that may impact counterparty’s creditworthiness

Functional Skills and Capabilities

Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain professional relationships with customers.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Solid business acumen, particularly with financial literacy, market awareness and strategic thinking

Strong understanding of accounting principles to conduct in-depth financial statement analysis.

Demonstrated ability to consider impact of decisions on other aspects of the business

Practical understanding of working capital management

Able to learn quickly when facing new situations

Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple requests to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications

Qualifications Education

Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain preferred

Experience

3+ years of experience in business or corporate setting required

Experience analyzing financial statements is preferred

Prior experience in credit analysis or collections is preferred

Prior experience with bankruptcy or UCC filings is preferred

Experience preparing presentations and communications to senior leaders preferred
