Primary Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Office of Innovation in the grant application and management processes, including:

Monitoring the financial management of grants (e.g., budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) to ensure compliance with all program and funding guidelines of awarding organizations. Collaboration on grant applications with various District campuses and community organizations, as well as processing, monitoring, and coordinating required report evaluations on existing grants. Development of funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services, writing grants, Developing budgets for funded projects, Identification of potential new funding sources. Education/Certification

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required Master's degree preferred Experience

Experience with budgeting Experience with data reporting Two years of experience working with educational programs and/or grants. Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Prefer bilingual, but not required. Ability to use Excel and create spreadsheets Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as budgeting, payroll, and program operations. Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Management

Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g., district personnel, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of managing funded projects. Coordinates specified grant processes (e.g., evaluations, budget, finance, reports, etc.) to ensure compliance with district and funder guidelines. Assist in grant applications and submission of required documentation (e.g., required reports, budgets, specific inquiries, etc.) to the appropriate funding agency. Monitors proposals and funding application requirements (e.g,. presentation, number of copies, and binding). Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars to gather and convey information necessary for performing functions. Research grant opportunities (e.g., facility improvements, curriculum development, administrative needs, etc.) to develop additional funding resources for current and proposed services, programs, and administrative operations, and to serve as a clearinghouse for potential grant funding opportunities. Policy, Reports, And Law

Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy. Prepare and provide reports as required while maintaining appropriate compliance and data activities. General Employee Requirements

Ensure district resources are managed effectively to maximize resources for student learning. Share in the development and implementation of district success plans. Actively participate in ongoing development to improve work quality and district contribution. Model integrity, work ethic, and professionalism as a suitable example for Lubbock ISD students.
