Overview
Vaco Phoenix is working with an amazing company who is looking to add a Payroll Accountant to their growing team. This is a contract to hire position that is hybrid (one day remote). The role involves preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting analyses related to labor, payroll, and employee benefits. Job Description
Oversee payroll account reconciliations across all entities and assess financial reports submitted by franchise operators for accuracy and compliance. Prepare and record payroll transactions each month, including standard and off-cycle payroll runs, as well as accruals for capitalized labor, paid time off, benefits, and bonuses. Participate in the monthly financial close by reconciling payroll-related accounts and supplying in-depth explanations for account variances. Review third-party tax filings such as W-2s, and coordinate any corrections or adjustments required prior to final submission. Work closely with the Fixed Assets team to evaluate and validate labor cost estimates allocated to capital projects. Monitor and ensure adherence to all payroll-related reporting obligations on a quarterly and annual basis. Contribute to the creation and refinement of operational reports within systems, ensuring data integrity and reliability for routine processes. Required
5+ years of experience in payroll accounting Time management skills Communication skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
