Position Overview This role is part of the BEF Quality and Food Safety Excellence team, reporting to the Sr QFSE Manager. The role involves conducting food safety and quality system audits of BEF facilities, suppliers, and co-manufacturers. It also supports developing technical solutions to enhance food safety and quality performance. The QFSE Audit Specialist will work remotely. Accountabilities: Conduct food safety audits at supplier and co-manufacturing facilities across various food processing environments. Assess internal manufacturing facilities for GFSI audit readiness and compliance with company quality standards. Ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, and other regulatory guidelines. Document and report audit findings and data. Assist operations in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Provide training on food safety and quality assurance procedures. Identify risks, escalate non-compliances, and ensure timely corrective actions. Verify completion of CAPA plans. Support internal plant preparations for audits. Develop and enhance BEF audit criteria, expectations, and performance standards. Qualifications
Experience and Education: Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, Chemistry, or related fields. PCQI or HACCP certification required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, including 2 years in auditing. Knowledge of GMP, QMS, and regulations. Experience with food production operations, HACCP, food safety plans, sanitation, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and familiarity with audit schemes like SQF, BRC, AIB, ISO 22000. Proficiency in audit data systems and Microsoft Office.
